The Amiga 500, released by Commodore in 1987, is a 16-bit home computer popular for gaming and multimedia. It features a Motorola 68000 CPU at 7.16 MHz (NTSC) or 7.09 MHz (PAL), 512 KB of RAM (expandable to 1 MB), and the AmigaOS with Workbench. It has a built-in 3.5-inch floppy disk drive, supports up to 4096 colors via the OCS chipset, and offers stereo sound with 4 channels. The A500 includes a keyboard, two joystick ports, and expansion ports for peripherals. Known for its advanced graphics and sound, it was a favorite for games like Lemmings and The Secret of Monkey Island.
