Very similar to the Beomaster 1200 but in black, the significant differences between the Beomaster 1200 and Beomaster 1001 was that this was an FM-only receiver which was capable of producing ambiophonics sound through four speakers. It could also give a 2 x 2 stereo speaker arrangement if the user did not wish to hear ‘pseudo’ quadraphonic – or ambiophonics – sound in the same room.

A beautiful-looking machine, as was the Beomaster 1200, but one whose technology was surpassed later with the arrival of Beomaster 3400 which was able to deal with ‘proper’ four-track sound.

Three favorite radio stations could be preset by push-buttons, and AFC was fitted as standard to lock on and hold on to distant transmitters. The amplifier delivered 2 x 15W with all controls being of Jacob Jensen’s ’slide rule’ type.
