Beskrivelse
The Farfisa VIP 600 is a dual-manual electric organ from the 1970s, produced by the Italian manufacturer Farfisa as part of their VIP series introduced around 1970. The lower manual includes a splitable section with sounds like trombone/piano, violin/harpsichord, and trumpet/banjo, adjustable via drawbars similar to a Hammond organ, allowing sound customization. It also has a wah-wah effect on the lower manual. Syntheslalom feature for automated pitch bending, which glides notes upward to the correct pitch. The slalom pedal enables real-time pitch shifts down a full octave, a feature possibly used by Led Zeppelin in «Dancing Days.» The organ weighs around 100 pounds, making it heavy for transport, and is built durably with a tank-like chassis. It was used by bands like Simple Minds for arpeggiated figures and bright chords, and by Tangerine Dream for experimental music.
